February 2009 Events: Feb. 13th- Class Valentine's Party! Bring your Valentines and your ice cream sundae items and it will be a great time! Any extra treats, sweets, or goodie bags are gladly excepted! TBA: TAKS Movie Day! Students have been receiving stickers for their individual TAKS charts. Each letter in the word TAKS is made up of circles that can be filled in with stickers. Stickers are given on the basis of passing grades on ANY TAKS practice material in any subject. Students that fill up their T and their A on the TAKS chart before the end of February will get to partake in a fourth grade movie day! We will use the same TAKS chart and incentives for the Reading and Math TAKS testing later on in the year. February is Black History Month! Students will be participating in a variety of activities in celebration of this! We will visit J.O. Davis' house (off Jackson Street), we will get to visit our very own Davis Living Museum where Davis students will be dressed up as prominent African American Leaders, and we will also get to partake in a Davis Hallway Tour. Every classroom in Davis has decorated their class door in celebration of the month! We are very excited for all of the activities!
